“CEO should actually stand for Chief ENCOURAGEMENT Officer.”

A friend recently told me that CEO should actually stand for Chief ENCOURAGEMENT Officer.

I loved that because “encourage” is one of five words I wrote down on a whiteboard to remind me of my own personal mission statement.

The full list is:
1. Encourage
2. Guide
3. Equip
4. Serve
5. Listen
These five words describe my mission and how I want to show up in relationships. I frequently revisit them to ask myself, “Am I applying at least one of these actions to each conversation or interaction with friends, family, and team members?”

That’s the goal.

So, am I the CEO? Well, yes.

But, I prefer Chief ENCOURAGEMENT Officer.

Depending on the interaction, though, I may also be the:
➡️Chief GUIDING Officer
➡️Chief EQUIPPING Officer
➡️Chief SERVING Officer
➡️Chief LISTENING Officer

If I’m aligned with those five words, I’m a-okay with whatever my title is!

As you think about your personal mission, is there one word, or maybe five, that you resonate with?
