Muddy patches are where the real impact happens.

Around this time each year, I replace my old running shoes with a brand-new pair. It marks the start of a fresh season of trail time with friends and my favorite podcasts.

This year was no different. With my new shoes laced up, I hit the trails with one of my good friends. Since our last visit, he had gone through some big life challenges. I was anxious to get caught up, and some meaningful trail conversation would do us both some good.

Wouldn’t you know it, within 10 minutes of our run, we began to hit mud and sludge left over from a recent rain. Ugh! So much for my new shoes!

This muddy experience reminded me of our core value — Represent the Client.

Our clients often come to us feeling “stuck in the mud”:
➡️ Financials are a mess
➡️ Accounting processes need complete overhaul
➡️ Cash flow forecasting & budgeting are non-existent
➡️ Stress levels are through the roof

But, representing our clients well involves walking with them through the “muck and mire.”
Some of our longest-term clients have been those we have stood by during really tough seasons. Why? Because the muddy patches are where the real impact happens.

Just like I wasn’t going to abandon my friend on that muddy trail, we don't abandon our clients when things get tough.

When it comes to representing your clients, don’t be afraid to get a little mud on your shoes! That’s where the biggest impact occurs.
