Be Present
Seeing the sunrise during my early morning runs is one of my favorite parts of the day. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the beauty of what’s to come and the beginnings of a fresh new day.
But one morning, I got a wake-up call (and not just from my alarm clock).
You see, copperheads also enjoy the warmth of the asphalt trail in the crisp early mornings, and I narrowly missed stepping on this one.
Yikes!
It got me thinking about leadership. Just like on the trail, the excitement of what lies ahead can often distract us from the present moment.
It's like the visionary CEO so focused on tomorrow's big ideas that they miss today's problems slowly breaking down their company.
Whether it's leading your family or a company, it’s important to be present. When you do, you get to enjoy the wins and steer clear of the potential dangers.
Does this resonate with you? Let me know what you think.
