Stinky Skunk

“Tell me a story about a stinky skunk” is a frequent request from our 3-year-old granddaughter, Bristol. For her, our bedtime routine is not a success unless she hears one of Papa’s harrowing encounters with a stinky skunk.

What I love about Bristol’s consistent request is the clarity of what will make our time together a win.

Just like Bristol knows exactly what makes bedtime story time a success, we should approach our work the same way—by clearly defining what a "win" looks like. Without that clarity, we risk moving through the day checking off tasks but missing what truly matters. Whether it's delivering exceptional value to a client, strengthening a relationship, or making a meaningful impact, success should be intentional, not just incidental.

So, before diving into the day's routine, or your next client meeting, take a moment to ask yourself: What’s my version of the stinky skunk story today?
